Harbour View Cottages offer modern, purpose-built self-contained holiday accommodation only 10mins drive from the world-famous Matakohe Kauri Museum or Tinopai Beach. Our 2 cottages each have magnificent panoramic Kaipara Harbour views from inside and from the wrap-around decks. They are situated in peaceful rural surroundings and make the perfect weekend getaway or base when exploring the Kauri Coast and beyond. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and kitchen and comfortably sleeps 4 people.

Matakohe is located 2 hours northwest of Auckland Airport and 15mins drive from State Highway 1 in Northland, New Zealand. The Matakohe Kauri Museum is our most famous attraction but you can also enjoy the picturesque Kaipara Harbour, bushwalks and Tinopai Beach, which are located nearby. Mangawhai (30mins), Dargaville (20 mins), the rugged West Coast (including Kai Iwi Lakes plus Baylys Beach) and Waipoua Forest (1.5 hours) are easy day trips from Harbour View Cottages. We are a great alternative to motel accommodation or a holiday house, so sit back and relax or explore the area with a few days away at Harbour View Cottages.
